zeptap vs iphone mirroring.

iPhone Mirroring is lovely for a person. As a way to give an agent a phone, it comes with Apple's limits: one iPhone, one Apple Account, and no EU.

not tied to your apple account

Mirroring only pairs a Mac and an iPhone signed in to the same Apple Account. A brand's phone, a test phone or a client's phone rarely is. Zeptap doesn't care which account the phone uses: it's a USB cable and a Bluetooth pairing.

more than one phone

Mirroring shows one iPhone at a time. Zeptap streams every iPhone plugged into the Mac, and each tool call names the phone it's for, so an agent can work through three brand accounts in one session.

works where mirroring doesn't

iPhone Mirroring isn't available in the EU. Zeptap uses a USB cable and Bluetooth, which work the same everywhere.

tools, not a window

Mirroring MCPs click into a window on your Mac, so they share your screen and your pointer. Zeptap talks to the phone directly and hands your agent real tools: tap_text, open_app, unlock, and a settled screenshot after every action.

when mirroring is enough.

If you're outside the EU, have one iPhone on the same Apple Account as your Mac, and want to use it yourself from the desk, iPhone Mirroring is free and already on your Mac. Zeptap is for when an agent needs the phone, or more than one of them.

questions?

The docs go deeper, and they're written for agents to read too.

Does Zeptap use iPhone Mirroring?+

No. Zeptap reads the screen over the USB cable and taps and types as a Bluetooth keyboard and pointer through AssistiveTouch. It doesn't need Mirroring, Continuity or a shared Apple Account.

Does Zeptap work in the EU?+

Yes. Nothing Zeptap relies on is region-locked.

Does the iPhone need to be on the same Apple Account as my Mac?+

No. Any iPhone you can plug in and pair over Bluetooth works, whatever Apple Account it's signed in to.

Does the iPhone have to be wireless?+

No, it has to be wired. The screen comes over the USB cable, and touch and typing go over Bluetooth, so the phone sits within cable reach of the Mac.
