How it works
Zeptap, a Mac app, lets your agent post the Story the way you would: in the Instagram app, with the music and stickers your account can use.
You ask. Type the request in Zeptap’s chat on your Mac, or in your own agent.
It finds the media. It picks the photo or video from your iPhone’s Photos. To use a file from your Mac, AirDrop it or sync it with iCloud Photos first.
It opens the right account. It switches to the Instagram account you named, even if the phone holds several.
It builds the Story. It adds the song and picks the part, then the link sticker with your label, polls, mentions, location and text.
It checks in, posts and reports back. Ask it to stop at the preview and it waits for your OK. Then it tells you which account the Story went to, and when.
The same agent can then answer the replies your Story brings in. See comments and DMs.
Can you schedule Instagram Stories with music, polls and links?
You can schedule Instagram Stories on Business and Creator accounts, but a scheduled Story can’t carry music or a poll.
- Meta Business Suite schedules a Story on desktop and lets you add a link (Meta Business Help Center). As of February 2026 it can’t schedule music or poll stickers (Sprout Social).
- Most third-party schedulers send a push notification, and you add music, polls or links yourself on your phone.
- Personal accounts can’t auto-publish Stories. Meta’s business tools need a Business or Creator account (Meta Business Help Center), and reminder tools such as Buffer can only notify you to post them yourself (Buffer).
That last step happens in the Instagram app on your iPhone, which is where your agent works.
What schedulers charge, and what they hand back to you
Schedulers bill you every month, per channel, profile or user, and still hand Stories with music or polls back to you to finish by hand.
| Tool | Price (checked 14 Oct 2026) | Charged per | Story music and polls | Personal Instagram accounts |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Meta Business Suite | Meta’s own tool | n/a | Not scheduled; you add them in the app | No |
| Buffer | $5/mo per channel, billed annually | Channel | Reminder; you add them by hand | Reminder only |
| Later | $18.75/mo Starter, billed annually; 30 posts per profile a month | Social set (8 profiles) | Reminder; you add them by hand | Reminder only |
| Hootsuite | $99/mo Standard per user, billed annually; 10 accounts | User | Not stated; the API can’t add them¹ | Not stated |
| Metricool | From $20–25/mo Starter (billing basis not labelled) | Brand | Not stated; the API can’t add them¹ | Not stated |
| Zeptap | $25/mo or $99 once for one iPhone; $149 once for up to five | iPhone, not account | Your agent adds them in the app | Yes |
Prices are from each brand’s pricing page (for example Buffer and Later), checked 14 October 2026; recheck before buying. ¹Instagram’s publishing API doesn’t auto-publish music or poll stickers (Sprout Social, February 2026). Buffer’s reminder flow covers adding music (Buffer help); Later’s pricing page says you add music and stickers by hand.
How the cost scales:
- At 5 accounts, Buffer is about $25 a month (billed annually), close to Zeptap’s $25 a month.
- At 20–30 accounts, Buffer is about $100–150 a month, billed annually.
- Zeptap Lifetime Plus is $149 once for up to five iPhones, with several accounts on each. See running multiple accounts.
Zeptap has no built-in scheduler, so keep yours for plain Stories that can post on their own.

Pair your agent with your scheduler
Your agent posts when you ask, so it works best alongside the scheduler you already use.
- Plain Stories: let your scheduler post them on time.
- Stories with music, polls or stickers: when the “finish this Story” reminder arrives, hand the job to your agent.
- Your own automation: developers can start an agent such as Claude Code at the time they choose.
You stay in control
You watch every step, and nothing about your phone or accounts is handed to Zeptap.
Nothing is installed on your iPhone
Zeptap runs on your Mac. No jailbreak, no Xcode.
No Instagram password handed over
Your agent uses the Instagram app you’re already signed in to.
Your passcode never leaves your Mac
It’s stored on your Mac and never shown to the agent.
Your screen never touches Zeptap’s servers
Screenshots go only to the AI provider you chose, under your own plan.
Watch and stop any time
Every tap shows on your Mac, and you can tell the agent to wait for your OK before it shares.
Honest limits
- The agent can only use the songs and stickers Instagram shows your account.
- Your iPhone stays connected to your Mac while it works.
- It doesn’t post overnight on a timer.
- You’re responsible for following Instagram’s Terms of Use.
