How it works
Zeptap is a Mac app that gives your agent your real iPhone, so it posts in the apps instead of through an API.
Plug in your iPhone. Zeptap connects it to your Mac. Nothing is installed on the phone.
Ask your agent: “Post this to X and my Instagram Story.” Use Zeptap’s chat, OpenClaw or any agent you connect.
It opens the app on the right account, picks your media and writes the post, link or sticker.
It can show you the preview first, then posts and reports back with the link.
Several brands? Use several accounts per iPhone, or five iPhones with Lifetime Plus (multiple accounts).
X (Twitter) API pricing and Instagram API costs (October 2026)
As of October 2026, X charges $0.015 per post created through its API and $0.20 for a post with a link (X API pricing). Instagram’s API doesn’t charge per post, but it’s gated.

|---|---|---|---|
| Price to post | $0.015; $0.20 with a link | Not charged per post (Meta docs) | Not verified |
| Accounts | Any | Business or creator only | Any (private until the app is audited) |
| Before you post | Developer app, prepaid credits | Meta developer app; App Review and Business Verification to serve accounts you don’t manage | App audit; until then posts stay private, max 5 users a day |
| Limits | Reads billed separately; 3M-read cap per billing cycle | Daily cap on API posts | None |

API and MCP posting tools vs Zeptap
Many agent builders post through a paid posting API with an MCP server, billed monthly.
| Tool | Cheapest paid plan | Priced by | MCP | Personal Instagram |

| Ayrshare | $149/mo, 1 profile (one account per network) | Profile | Yes | Not stated |
| Blotato | $29/mo, 20 accounts | Account | Yes | Not stated |
| Zernio (formerly Late) | 2 free, then $6 each to 10, $3 from 11 | Account | Yes | Not stated |
| Upload-Post | $16/mo, 5 profiles (annual) | Profile | Yes | Not stated |
| Postiz | $23/mo annual, $29 monthly, 5 channels | Channel | Yes | Not stated |
| post bridge | $39/mo, 15 accounts | Account | Yes | Not stated |
| bundle.social | $100/mo, 10,000 posts | Post | Yes | Not stated |
| X API direct | $0.015 a post, $0.20 with a link | Post | n/a | n/a |
| Zeptap | $25/mo or $99 once (1 iPhone); $149 once (5 iPhones) | License | Yes (local) | Yes, in the app |
From each tool’s pricing page, checked October 14, 2026. Billed monthly unless marked. “Not stated” means the page doesn’t say. Zeptap prices are introductory.
- At 5 accounts, prices are close: Zernio $18, Upload-Post $16, Postiz $23–29 a month, against Zeptap’s $25.
- At 20–30 accounts, the cheap tools stay cheap: Blotato is $29 a month for 20 accounts, Upload-Post $33 for up to 25 profiles. Zernio comes to $78–108.
- Zeptap Lifetime Plus is one $149 payment for up to five iPhones and 20–30 accounts. Against Upload-Post’s $33 a month, it pays for itself in about 5 months.
- The bigger difference is what they can’t post: personal Instagram accounts and Stories with music and stickers. They also need a developer app or API approval behind them.
What the APIs don’t let your agent do
In the app, your agent can use everything the app offers.
Post from a personal Instagram account
Meta’s API only serves professional accounts.
Add link stickers to Stories
Meta’s publishing guide lists no sticker options (Instagram Stories with links).
Post publicly on TikTok without an audit
Your agent posts in the app like any creator.
Prompts to try
Copy one into your agent, and swap the details for your own.
Post this on X from @demo.app: “Dark mode is live. Update the app and try it tonight.” Show me the preview before you tap Post.
Take the newest photo in my camera roll and post it to @demo.bakery on Instagram with the caption “Fresh batch, out at 7am.” Add our location.
Share our launch link on X, LinkedIn and our Instagram Story with a link sticker. Write each caption for the platform and show me all three first.
Show 3 more prompts
Upload the video I AirDropped today to TikTok with the caption and hashtags from my Notes, and save it as a draft.
Turn today’s changelog in Notes into a 4-post X thread, post it from @demo.app and pin the first post to our profile.
Post each of our three Instagram accounts’ own approved Reel from the “Ready to post” album, using that account’s caption from the doc, then send me all three links.
When the API is the better choice
Use an API to post thousands of times, from a server, on a timer; Zeptap has no built-in scheduler.
- Platform rules apply; following them is your responsibility. X’s automation rules (April 2026) name non-API automation as grounds for suspension. Instagram’s Terms limit automated access. Use X’s API for bulk or unattended X posts.
- A few X posts cost less on the API. Even 90 link posts cost $18, under Zeptap’s $25 a month; $99 once equals about 495 link posts.
What stays private and in your control
Your secrets stay on your Mac, and you stay in the loop.
Your passcode never leaves your Mac
It’s stored on your Mac; the agent never sees it.
Your screen never touches Zeptap’s servers
Screenshots go only to the AI provider you chose.
You can watch every tap from your Mac
Your agent checks with you before messaging new contacts or buying, and you can stop it any time.
How to start
Setup takes a few minutes.
Download Zeptap for your Mac (macOS 14 or later).
Plug in your iPhone and pair it. Any iPhone on iOS 15 or later works.
Ask your agent in Zeptap’s chat (⌘L) on your Claude or ChatGPT plan, or connect your own in Settings › Connectors.
